Did Minimum-Wage Hike Hurt D.C.?

Labor Department data through December released last month showed that the nation’s capital saw hiring ground to a halt at restaurants, hotels and other leisure and hospitality venues in 2015. Even worse, the data showed that average weekly wages in the sector fell more than 5% in the fourth quarter compared to a year earlier — exactly the opposite of what was supposed to happen.
