We’re finding out how many more millennials found jobs as social-media managers, fixie repairmen or whatever, allowing them to move out of mom and dad’s basement. Yes, today’s jobs report is covering all generations, but it’s the shortage of good jobs for young ’uns that’s often cited as a big reason why we are “locked into this modest-growth world.” There are pundits sounding upbeat lately, arguing millennials are “in the driver’s seat” as companies ramp up hiring. They don’t seem to realize, however, that millennials don’t like driving and cars as much as past generations. Correspondingly car rental company Avis Budget, apartments provider, Facebook, and other similar stocks are expected to gain over the years thanks to how the new generation is spending its money.
