One is the loneliest number in golf. It does not seem so long ago that there was one figure at the top of the game — a singular, spectacular, dominant player around which the sport revolved. But that player is an apparition now, living in relative obscurity behind the gates of his oceanfront Florida mansion — unseen and unheard to most aside from an occasional scripted, business-related public appearance or random Twitter missives and posts on his website, neither of which he even writes himself.
