US and Chinese warships join forces in massive joint naval exercise

The Chinese and US naval fleets have conducted a rare joint exercise in a massive show of force in the North Pacific. The two superpowers’ impressive display of warships and helicopters took part in the practise staged just east of the Mariana Trench, in waters off the coast of the Phillipines. During the two-hour drill, the participating fleets formed V-shaped, rhombus and screen formations before continuing their journey to Hawaii.
