Faster than the speed of SOUND: Nasa’s radical future plan for plane travel

Written by Teunis Felter

Strap your seat belt tight and hold on – NASA has revealed plans for passenger planes faster than the speed of sound. The experimental X-planes were tested out by the American aeronautic agency back in the 1940s and they’re set to make a comeback.  One of the models is a twin-hull plane called the ‘double bubble’ D8 and fast enough to break the sound barrier.  NASA has finally granted 2.19 million to bring one of the models to life.
