Hurricane Matthew will threaten lives and property across the central and northern Caribbean with flooding rain, damaging winds and an inundating storm surge early next week. Matthew, currently a Category 5 hurricane, will continue to move westward across the central Caribbean Sea before making an abrupt turn to the north later this weekend. After moving away from the Caribbean, Matthew may approach the U.S. East Coast during the middle and latter half of next week.
