Soccer fans have spoken — by putting their foot in their mouth. Footy McFooty Face is the leading contender for the name of the San Diego team vying for one of Major League Soccer’s expansion spots. Votes for the name began pouring into a Facebook poll Friday morning, as the fourth and final round got under way. In the third round, Footy earned nearly 2,550 votes over second runner-up San Diego Surf, which collected about 2,330.
