Sergio Garcia won a thrilling Masters Tournament 2017 for his first career major title. Garcia and Justin Rose finished 72 holes at Augusta National Golf Club tied at 9-under. Garcia birdied the first playoff hole, the par-4 18th, after Rose bogeyed. The 81st edition of The Masters was cloaked in sentimentality given that Arnold Palmer, as inextricably linked to the tournament as any human ever, is gone. Palmer died in September at age 87. Palmer competed in his first Masters in 1955, finishing tied for 10th. He won in 1958, 1960, 1962 and 1964 to account for the majority of his seven PGA Tour majors.
