RaA French citizen submitted an application for an Official French ID card, using a computer generated picture of a 3d model. The picture and application was accepted and a real ID was delivered to him.
Given Europe’s current issues with terrorism and immigration, this most likely will become a larger issue in identifying and tracking individuals with questionable pasts.
From his website: “The photo I submitted for this request is actually a 3D model created on a computer, by means of several different software and techniques used for special effects in movies and in the video game industry. It is a digital image, where the body is absent, the result of an artificial process.”
